This outdoor space had a lot going on - a curved concrete patio with a built-in fire pit, a stacked block retaining wall wrapping the whole area, and a flagstone stepping stone path leading up to it. Beautiful setup. But years of sitting in a wooded, shaded backyard had taken a toll. Organic growth - algae, moss, dirt - had settled into every surface and made the whole space look worn down and forgotten.

That kind of buildup is sneaky. It doesn't happen overnight, so a lot of homeowners don't notice how much has accumulated until they're staring at it before a get-together. That's exactly where this one landed - the homeowner had a party coming up and needed the space looking sharp, fast.

We went after the retaining wall, the concrete around the fire pit, and the stepping stones. Each surface needed attention. The block wall had years of organic staining worked into the face of every course. The concrete patio had that dull, darkened look that pressure washing clears right up. And the stepping stones - they were barely recognizable as the light-colored flagstone they actually are.

What came off those surfaces was significant. The patio concrete is now bright and clean. The retaining wall blocks show their actual color again. The stepping stones look fresh - almost like they were just set. It's a completely different space without a single thing being replaced or repaired. That's what a solid patio cleaning can do when the underlying hardscape is still in good shape.
